The web presences www.dresdnerbank.de and www.dresdnerbank.com are administrated with the help of Infopark CMS Fiona. The sites include a wide range of offers for private customers as well as corporate clients.
Intranet “BINGO”
For the internal information system, several hundred thousand documents stored in an old data format were transfered from a proprietary database to the Infopark CMS. All metadata, for example access permissions, were preserved.
For a short period of time, the two systems had to be operated concurrently, so that the data had to be transferred to the new system during the night.
To avoid downtimes, the complete architecture was distributed on several servers, which are connected to each other by an equally redundant Cisco Web Switch. Accessibility is ensured even if the system breaks down entirely.
This architecture is necessary because the system frequently encounters access peaks. Sometimes more than 20.000 encrypted requests need to be handled at the same time. For the purpose of delivering dynamic and personalised content, the requests are authenticated against an LDAP system.
Until now the system has never gone down, and no critical problems occurred.
