Since 2004, the University of Augsburg has been administrating its web presence with Infopark's CMS. Agility and up-to-dateness of the website are two things that are very important for Dr. Annja Huber, webmaster at the computer center of the University of Augsburg.

About 14.000 students become supervised by the university, which was founded in 1970. Seven faculties, nine institutes and all central departments of the university independently administrate several websites. Though, updated information is provided to the “virtual visitors” at all time.

Why implement a Content Management System at the University? Easy management and administration of the web presence without requiring a web administrator were the most important reasons for the University of Augsburg. After an efficient market analysis, the University of Augsburg decided to use Infopark’s CMS. This CMS covers all requirements of the University in an ideal way: simple usability, wide range of functionality and compatibility to the existing IT-infrastructure.

After deciding for the CMS of Infopark, the preparation started immediately. System software, database and CMS could be installed as expected without any problems. Subsequently, the implementation began. In May 2004 the test stage had been completed with the web-presences of the faculty of jura, the computer center, and the international academic department.

Today, more than 90 people, such as scientific assistants, secretaries, administration secretaries, and students use Infopark CMS Fiona without having specific knowledge about web programming. The Content Management System from Infopark is a solid basis for a trouble-free online-presence of all departments of the University of Augsburg.
