Since September 2002 the city of Aachen administrates its website with the Infopark Content Management System and showcases itself on www.aachen.de with an entirely new designed webpage. |
The extended website is now presented in a modern and appealing layout. Now, aachen.de is a full featured city portal which informes citizens, businessmen and visitors on more than 2,000 pages. The clear structure, the concise sitemap and the sophisticated search functions are helping the user to find the requested information quickly.
The new website was conceived and realised by AixVision, the online editorial staff of Aachen, Wincommunication and Regio IT. AixVision, besides consulting the project team was also responsible for the following areas: technical conception, technical implementation, introduction of the Content Management System, programming and implementation of the web design.
AixVision and Wincommunication were chosen in October 2001 by the city of Aachen to realise the new portal. The task was to completely redesign the website aachen.de and to implement it, based on the Infopark Content Management System.
A highlight of the website is the guiding system for the public authorities (citizen service a-z). Now, the work of the city council has become much more transparent for its citizens. The website explains all municipal services. The search function is easy to handle and makes it possible to quickly locate services, forms and contact persons.
