The Schenker Deutschland AG is one of the leading providers of integrated logistics solutions in the German market. With its headquarters in Frankfurt (Main) and in excess of 100 branches throughout Germany, the Schenker Deutschland AG is part of the world-wide network of the Schenker Group. Schenker is part of the Ressort Transport & Logistic of Deutsche Bahn AG.
Internet use
The website of Schenker Deutschland is maintained centrally, using Infopark CMS Fiona. Employees with little or no skills of programming or html, can quickly publish new content or edit existing information. The separation of layout and content within the CMS supports the implementation of Schenkers corporate design.
Multilingualism
The Internet presence of Schenker Deutschland is available in German and English language. For a global player such as Schenker the flexible adjustment of language requirements is of major importance. As a result the support of multiple languages of the CMS was an important evaluation criteria. If required, Schenker has the possibility to add intranet und internet offers in various additional languages using the CMS.
Intranet
In addition to the internet appearance of Schenker Deutschland, the intranet was also implemented on the basis of Infopark CMS Fiona. In addition to multilingualism, the decentralized maintainance of the intranet was a crucial factor as over 50 editors are working in different locations throughout Germany.
Internal training for editors
The intranet editor training was conducted in-house. In charge of the training course was Tanja Rothkegel, coordinator for Internet and intranet. Due to her area of expertise she was already familiar with the CMS. On being asked if it was difficult to teach future editors, she replied: “From an editors perspective the CMS is a very simple and self-explanatory tool”. With a user-friendly application such as Infopark CMS Fiona, the convenient maintainance of intranet contents is ensured. Thus a powerful and universal medium has been created to facilitate internal communication.

Schenker & Co AG is the leading provider of integrated logistics in Austria and in South-East Europe. They also mantain and manage their web presence with Infopark CMS Fiona.
