The website

Some of the most important requirements of a modern web presence of a newspaper are up-to-dateness, multimedia basis, clear navigation, and a wide range of services. Moreover, comfortable search in an extensive archive of articles as well as integrated interactive elements are essential for a long-lasting online newspaper.

The manual processing and administration of huge amounts of data, an online newspaper has to deal with, takes much time and keeps too many employees busy. Additionally, with the implementation of paid contents, functions such as comfortable user administration and direct interfaces to the accounting system become more important.

Decision for Infopark CMS Fiona

Confronted with those tasks, “Mannheimer Morgen”, one of the leading newspapers of the Rhine-Neckar-Region, decided to use Infopark’s Content Management System. In addition to the high scalability and flexibility, the wide expandibility of the system with its open interfaces convinced Xmedias of the CMS.

Various offers

Besides “Mannheimer Morgen”, four more newspapers are presented under “www.morgenweb.de”. With more than two million page impressions a month (February 2005), Morgenweb is one of the biggest online news providers in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

Easy use

Infopark’s CMS can be used without any HTML knowledge. With the aid of this CMS solution, Xmedias created an optimal workflow: it needs just a couple of seconds from generating an article until publishing it on the Internet. Because any browser can work as a client, the smooth connection of external employees is very easy.
