Since October 2004, the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main effectively has been presenting itself with Infopark CMS Fiona on their campus wide web site.

Up to date with a corporate design

The university aimed at implementing a consistent system for their web site in which all faculties can keep their information up to date in an easy way. Using the corporate design the web presence is easily distinguishable from other internet pages for a broad audience.

Decision for Infopark’s CMS

Several suppliers of Content Management Systems presented their software solutions. However, only the Infopark CMS convinced the University of Frankfurt. Not only did it fully meet the technical requirements, but it was also easy to integrate into the existing user management systems.

Friendly, easy and powerful

The separation from the layout allows the editors to concentrate entirely on the content. The design of the web site is provided by the marketing departement. Inconsistent pages as well as dead links are a thing of the past since Fiona verifies everything before it can be published.

Accessible output

The requirements for accessible output were easily met with Infopark’s CMS. The web site is using a clear navigation, alternative texts for all graphics and a pleasing layout which is fully accessible.

Professional search engine

Powerful search functions are using the Infopark Search Cartridge. Among other things the extended search allows users to exclude certain words from search request, to search in subfolders and to limit the search to a certain date.

Integration into the information system UnivIS

Based on the XML API that Infopark’s CMS offers, it was easy to interface with the information system (UnivIS) the university already used. Due to this fact it was easy to transfer data from one system to another.
