Since its foundation in 1951 the LfA has influenced the development of Bavaria’s industry greatly. With more than 300 employees and total assets of 14.3 billion Euros, the bank has helped people to become independent enterpreneurs, supports future-oriented investments and actively guides companies through difficult times.

The main goal of the relaunch of the LfA website was to improve the presentation of the product and service portfolio. Therefore, the following things had to be implemented:

  • simplified structure and a new layout to make the site more user accessible
  • optimization of existing and easier creation of new content
  • deployment of portals for partners, press, representatives (extranet)
  • improved accessibility via a powerful search function
  • automated transfer of documents concerned with terms and conditions for the Internet

The project was managed by Oestreicher + Wagner and a team of six LfA employees. It was broken down in five phases:

Phase 1: Conceptual design

  • as-is analysis of existing workflows
  • as-is analysis of existing structures and content (areas)
  • analysis of the target groups
  • analysis of the usability
  • definition of new content areas and functionalities

Phase 2: Choosing partner and CMS
Phase 3: Detailed analysis
Phase 4: Implementation
Phase 5: Going live

The new website went live on November 15th 2005. In the course of the project the old Hyperwave-based system was completely replaced by Infopark’s CMS Fiona.

The new website offers the following advantages to customers and partners of LfA:

  • virtual guidepost for several loan programs
  • automated evaluation of credit ratings based on adequate interest loans
  • WAI compliancy
  • press area with a vast amount of downloadable documents

The CMS helped to create a comfortable, structered and consistent process of managing information. 14 people are currewntly working with the system. “By implementing Infopark CMS Fiona, all our requirements were met” says project manager Bernd Eßlinger.
