By means of Infopark's Content Management System, the Münchener Hypothekenbank is enabled to maintain their website independently, easily, and without special knowledge of HTML.

The Münchener Hypothekenbank was founded in 1896 under the name of “Bayerische Landwirtschaftsbank”. It is the only mortgage bank worldwide that has the legal state of a registered co-operative. As a mortgage bank in which no big bank is involved as a majority shareholder, the Münchener Hypothekenbank is controlled by share holders such as primary banks and co-operative central banks.

Until mid-2005, the Münchener Hypothekenbank was operating a smaller CMS solution which required the administrators to have a deep knowledge of HTML. However, the persons responsible demanded that maintaining the site was as simple as possible, meaning that content could also be acquired and edited by employees without an affinity to the Internet. Thus, after thorough evaluation, the decision was made in favour of Infopark’s CMS. Next to restructuring the content, it was the goal to adapt the site to the new corporate design.

By the end of June 2006, the implementation and integration into the existing infrastructure was completed and the goals were reached. Due to the enhanced user-friendliness for the administrators, the dynamics of information supply have been improved. The content was separated from the layout of the site. Since the CMS truly simplifies the acquisition and modification of content, even employees with low IT knowledge are now able to publish information.

As a consequence, content is now published where it is created and in a timely manner instead of taking the long way via the IT department.

Additionally, this change also positively effects the communication processes which have become faster and more robust. For example, the benefits of the online channel have been increased by addressing the target groups more specifically.

Due to complete satisfaction with Infopark CMS Fiona, the existing extranet is intended to be restructured as well using Infopark’s CMS. This measure aims at achieving synergies between the extranet and the intranet as well as reducing the process costs by means of automatic interfaces to other systems (SAP, for example).
