The Presidency of the Council of the European Union is held by the member states in turn for a period of six months. The Council unanimously decides on order of rotation. In the first half of 2007, Germany held the Presidency.

The website of the German EU Council Presidency is accessible in three languages (English, French, German). During the Presidency it included a calendar, a comprehensive media service with press programmes for major events, a photo service, RSS feeds, newsletters, route planners, and weather forecasts, as well as all official statements of the German EU Presidency.

Germany is the third EU state, which chose Infopark’s software solution for its Presidency website – following Luxembourg in the first half of 2005 and Austria in the first half of 2006.

The website was realised by Babiel GmbH, a premium partner of Infopark.
