The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control is using Infopark's Content Management System for its three websites. |

The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) is a superior federal authority subordinated to the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). It is entrusted with important administrative tasks of the federal government in the sectors foreign trade, promotion of economic development and energy. A central task of BAFA in the foreign trade sector is export control.
After a long evaluation BAFA decided against the German government standard software. It favoured Infopark CMS Fiona. The flexibility and the easy handling of the software as well as the user interface have been the convincing factors.
The Infopark software solution is used for the websites www.bafa.de, www.ausfuhrkontrolle.info as well as www.eu-outreach.info.
Within the project the structure and the layout of the website were redesigned. The three independent websites were built in a consistent design to match the corporate design guidelines. New features like RSS feeds and a newsletter service were added as well.
27 editors of BAFA can manage the web presence locally. They can react quickly to newsworthy facts.
Holger Beutel, project manager at the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control, is sure that it was right to decide for Infopark’s software solution. “Infopark CMS Fiona represents a significant work relief for our employees. Therefore mistakes can be eliminated which leads to a minimisation of administration costs.”
With the new bilingual website the BAFA offers an information portal, where also forms can be downloaded and requests can be filled out online. “The web presence supports our future business processes.” Beutel says.
The website was implemented by Babiel GmbH, a partner of Infopark.
