University of Applied Science Augsburg
The roots of the university date back to the year 1660. Therefore it is one of the oldest German Universities of Applied Sciences. At present the university counts around 4100 students.
Decision for Infopark
Due to constantly growing amounts of data, a high-performance commercial Content Management System had to be introduced. This was after using an open source solution for many years. Due to Infopark’s reputable customers such as a variety of universities and research facilities, the University of Applied Sciences Ausgburg decided to use the efficient software solution too. Professor Wolfgang Kowarschick, lecturer for the subject Content Management at the university, became the project manager for the CMS project.
Accessibility
Infopark CMS Fiona is based on an open architecture which made it possible to connect a variety of applications to the system. As a result, next to an LDAP-connection, also the program managing the university’s timetable was attached to the CMS. Additionally, from now on the corporate identity can easily be maintained.
Handling of Infopark CMS Fiona
Due to the easy handling and the intuitional user interface of Infopark’s solution, now all professors and further staff members are able to use the software effectively. “Prospectively the number of active editors will constantly grow.” according to Professor Kowarschick.
