DVB Bank specializes in transport finance and is one of the leading banks in its industry.
Internet-Relaunch
In order for the DVB Bank to successfully relaunch their web presence with Infopark CMS Fiona it had to be clarified, which aspects of the relaunch enjoy priority. This prioritization was lead by the team of Claudia Stern, the Vice President of Corporate Communications of the DVB Bank. Next to multilingual capabilities and a consistent corporate design, specific page layouts and functionality were of particular importance. Upon completion of the project the Internet presence was relaunched in German and English, including customized contact- and order forms.
Extranet: Private Access for Selected Customers
Besides the Internet presence the extranet website of the DVB Bank was also realized by Infopark. It is a secure area of the site to enhance communications with selected customers. The extranet enables quick and seamlessly projects with worldwide partners of the DVB Bank. It also enables the efficient management and distribution of project-related information to designated project groups.
Enhanced Comfort for the Intranet
Every employee of the DVB Bank is now able to use their own personalized portal site as starting page to the intranet. Depending on the preferences of the active user (e.g. location, department, personal interests etc.) only relevant information such as news and documents are displayed. The personalized access to the intranet is greatly appreciated by the staff. Under the slogan “Stop searching, start finding” a number of powerful custom searches were realized by Infopark using the Infopark Search Cartridge. Among other things it is now possible to search for news and employees globally.
Secure Administration of Revisions of “Policies and Procedures” on the Intranet
Beyond the provision of information to the employees of the organisation, the DVB Bank also uses Infopark CMS Fiona to securely manage all revisions of their documents. This includes in particular a large quantity of manuals and guidelines (“Policies and Procedures”) that have to be adjusted regularly. It is mandatory by law to archive these documents on a regular basis. The systematic filing and archiving of the manuals creates a manageable structure for all editors of the intranet.
Comparing Versions
In addition, all changes between revisions can be tracked and compared online. The Intranet Manager Frank Goldau is excited about this special feature: “The system contains an efficient engine for comparing versions of documents online. This enables improved tracking of workflows.”
Generating PDF Documents Automatically Using the PDF Generator
Using the PDF generator for Infopark CMS Fiona it is now possible to print manuals automatically to PDF. All versions are now also available offline. Auditors now have the possibility to revise PDF documents while on the go. The automatically generated PDF documents feature numbered headings, a table of contents and page numbers for improved clarity.
Synchronisation Interface of the Intranet
Each employee can comfortably manage his profile using Infopark CMS Fiona in order to maintain individual changes. A direct call for the editing of the “record” originating from the intranet live system guarantees short processing times. While every employee has the ability to manage her profile, no modifications of basic personal data are permitted in the CMS. Basic personal data are synchronized with the internal Active Directory Server (ADS), a directory service in which all user data are stored. To ensure consistency all data are synchronized via the interface on a daily basis. The synchronisation ensures that the basic personal data of all users are stored in a central location and the Infopark CMS Fiona is used only for the purpose of adding additional relevant information.
