The Federal Agency for Real Estate (BImA) uses Infopark CMS Fiona to maintain its intranet and internet presence. The main focus during the extensive internet relaunch of the agency's website on April 2010 was on a customer friendly internet portal. |

About the Federal Agency for Real Estate
The Federal Agency for Real Estate is the German government’s real estate service provider. With a portfolio of more than 43,000 apartments and 300,000 hectares of land, the BImA is the largest property holder in Germany. The BImA is run with a value-based management approach and from a sales point of view. The BImA has approximately 6,000 employees in some 120 branches across Germany.
Relaunching a client oriented web presence
The BImA’s objective in relaunching its website was to extend its web presence to a customer portal. BImA developed the new design of the website in a workshop in cooperation with a web designer from Infopark. Both structure and design are now more clearly layed out and, as such, more accessible to customers.
Always on schedule with agile project management
Before commencing with the project, Infopark and BImA discussed the aims and project workflow at an introductory meeting, compiling a detailed list of requirements including user stories in a project wiki. Throughout the project the team set deadlines, so-called jours fixes, and in each following meeting new goals for the next meeting were defined. “Thanks to agile project management all our goals were achieved on time. Infopark proved to be a reliable partner throughout the whole project”, says Christine Braß, internet and intranet project manager at BImA.
Migration intranet
As with the internet web presence, the agency has used Infopark’s software solutions to maintain the intranet platform for years. During the relaunch the intranet CMS was migrated to the latest version of Infopark CMS Fiona.
