About DFG

The “Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft” (DFG) is the central, self-governing research funding organisation in Germany. Its members are research-intensive universities, independent research institutes, scientific associations, and the German Science Academies (“Akademien der Wissenschaften”).

Website Relaunch 2009

The DFG website was relaunched in 2009 using Infopark CMS Fiona. It addresses journalists and the public interested in science and research. The website includes, for example, a new magazine that deals with DFG-sponsored research projects, current political issues, and other interesting topics. The website also offers direct access to the terms, conditions, and procedures of sponsoring. This is particularly helpful to scientists and research institutes who wish to apply for sponsoring.

Lean Structures, Fresh Corporate Design

Regarding the website relaunch, DFG president Professor Matthias Kleiner said at the DFG’s New Year’s reception in Berlin: “The website convinces with its leaner structure directed to our target groups, and the new corporate design of the DFG has been implemented.”
