About BAdW
Founded in 1777, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities is one of the oldest science academies worldwide. Its main objective is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and encounters between representatives of the different fields of research. Amongst its most prominent members are Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the brothers Grimm and Wilhelm von Humboldt.
The Leibniz Computing Centre
In addition to its academic function the academy also runs the central computing centre which serves both state universities based in Munich as well as the academy itself. The computing centre named after Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz provides general IT services for the different institutions.
CMS Fiona at BadW
The LRZ is going to maintain their websites with Infopark CMS Fiona in future as well. Before making a final decision on which CMS to buy, LRZ sought advice from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU). LMU scoured the market for content management systems extensively before choosing Infopark CMS Fiona. Amongst other things the separation between live-system and editorial platform was one major plus for Fiona. This way maintenance works can be carried out without causing downtime for the website.
